Artist profile of 2-Stix…

The artistic development started taking shape at a young age in ceramics class with his little tomboy girlfriend. He would zone off into perfection, creating handmade gifts for Mom. It’s been a lifetime climb from then on out. In college, he focused on art and design, as well as working with his Father doing finish carpentry and construction.

His Father is a jack-of-all-trades, “Master of ALL”, and is impeccable at all that he builds. Thus, learning discipline and perseverance from his Father, he has created a foundation of integrity and honesty that shows up in his work and life as an artisan. His Father being his greatest influence has created 2-Stix to be a renaissance man of today.

His abilities stretch far beyond the pinstriping brush. He is one of the finest architectural renderers and designers in the county. He runs J WEIR MASTERWORKS (www.jweirmasterworks.com) which is an illustration, fabrication and habitation firm in Ventura. They provide architectural renderings, metal fabrication and design/build projects. In his downtime, he can be found in the garage, greasy, working on his cars and dirt bikes while listening to Tom Waits and prepping for the next ride, hike, backpacking or fishing trip.

When it comes to his auto graphics, he works on cars, bikes, helmets, tools, and whatever it is YOU want painted. He specializes in traditional freehand pinstriping, lettering, and gold and silver leafing.

Born and raised in Southern California, and now residing in Ventura since 1985. He was fortunate enough to apprentice under a pinstriping master with 60+ years of experience, Henry Segura, who learned from Von Dutch. Today, 2-Stix is married to his high school sweetheart, and can paint up anything your heart desires from his home shop in Ventura. He also travels to your location and works many of the car and bike shows in the county.
